Hear the Whistle
No steam engine would be complete without a whistle. Here are two samples of Kay-Gee 1875's whistles: whistle 1, whistle 2.
Some people I have talked with have said whistle signals were used to communicate various things out in the field. Others disagree with this beyond the distress signal. The Case-International web site once offered these whistle signals that some farmers used in their company history section.

- Signal to begin work
