Dumbo (March 31, 1945)

We bombed an air field near Tachiarai on the Island of Kyushu. No fighters or flack. We flew our first dumbo and had a very easy time. We saw two Jap ships that our sub was after.

This being a dumbo mission it does not have a mission resume. The above entry quoted in my father's journal is from March 27, however, I wonder if he were writing to catch up and the entry should have been split into two days.
