Contact Prints

These pictures were contact prints. When pictures are normally developed the negative is placed in an enlarger that projects the image onto the photo paper. A light is turned on exposing the paper to the picture and a print is made. The size of the print depends on the distance the negative is from the photo paper in the enlarger. For contact prints the negative is placed directly on the photo paper and the paper is exposed to the picture. The resulting picture is the same size as the original. These images were scanned from strips of pictures the same size as 35 mm negatives. They were small contact prints to begin with. There are some larger duplicates in my father's memorabilia but most are one of a kind to his collection. These are not organized by subject in any way.
